Asante Gold Corporation (CSE:ASE) announced today that investor Goknet Mining Co. Ltd. that it has acquired 100,000 common shares of the company.

Asante Gold Corporation (CSE:ASE) announced today that investor Goknet Mining Co. Ltd. that it has acquired 100,000 common shares of the company.
The shares were purchased for investment purposes and Goknet intends to evaluate its investment from time to time and to increase or decrease its beneficial shareholding as it may determine for investment purposes.
As quoted in the press release:

Following the above-mentioned transaction, Goknet beneficially owns 2,300,000 common shares which represent 10.23% of the issued and outstanding common shares of the Company.

The Company also notes the recent joint news release issued by AngloGold Ashanti (NYSE: AU) and Randgold Resources Limited (NASDAQ:GOLD) where they have concluded an investment agreement aimed at the formation of a joint venture to redevelop and operate AngloGold Ashanti’s Obuasi gold mine in Ghana.
This news is of significance to the Company as the Obuasi gold mine, which has mined some 33 million ounces of gold over its 117 year mine life, adjoins immediately to the north of the Company’s Kubi Gold Mine and Betanase options. The strike length of the Obuasi high grade gold reefs exceed 12km in length and extend to +2.5km in depth.
