PDAC is taking place this year from March 5 to 8 in Toronto, and there will be plenty of events for attendees to check out.
Held every March in Toronto, the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada conference, better known as PDAC, is the event of the year for mining companies and investors across the globe.
This year’s event takes place from March 5 to 8 at the Metro Toronto Convention Center, and is expected to feature hundreds of companies and speakers. Just over 22,000 people attended last year’s show, and with sentiment now more positive in the resource space, it’s possible that this year’s numbers will be stronger.
The sheer number of companies and events at PDAC can be overwhelming for first-time attendees, and even veterans. With that in mind, the Investing News Network has put together a list of talks, exhibits and events that may be worth attending. Read on to find out what’s going on at PDAC this year.
Talks, exhibits and events
PDAC is first and foremost an opportunity to network, and there will be plenty of chances for attendees to meet and talk to execs from a huge number of companies. The Investors Exchange and Trade Show & Trade Show North are both must sees, and more geology-focused investors may also want to check out the Core Shack and Prospectors Tent.
Investors interested in hearing market watchers’ thoughts on the overall resource space will likely be most interested in Sunday’s Letter Writer Presentations for Investors. Talks will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in room 801, with speakers including many familiar names like Rick Rule (4:35 p.m.), Marin Katusa (12:00 p.m.), John Kaiser (10:20 a.m.), Mickey Fulp (11:35 a.m.) and Brent Cook (2:30 p.m.).
Which INN partners will be at PDAC? Find out here.
Those more keen on learning about the markets for specific commodities might do better to check out PDAC’s Technical Program, which will include talks at various locations from Sunday afternoon to Wednesday morning. Notably, Sunday afternoon will feature talks on uranium (2:40 p.m. in room 701), copper (3:05 p.m. in room 701) and zinc (3:55 p.m. in room 701).
Finally, it would be remiss not to mention the networking events that take place during PDAC. While many companies will be hosting invite-only parties and events, there are also plenty that are promoted by PDAC itself. Take a look here for a taste of what’s going on.
