Metal Bulletin released a review of the molybdenum market in 2015, commenting that during the year the metal’s price fell steadily even though China’s State Reserve Bureau used stockpiling to try to “shore up the market.”

As quoted in the market news:

Metal Bulletin’s price book shows molybdenum concentrate Chinese free market, 45% Mo in warehouse China, prices fell by almost half in November from the start of the year when prices were 1,220-1,240 yuan ($188-191) per mtu. At the end of 2015, prices recovered some of their losses and on December 11 were assessed at 710-730 yuan per mtu. The price has returned to the 2003 price level, which is a twelve-year low.
