US Q1 Coal Exports Up 49% from 2010 on Global Supply Disruptions

The market news is quoted as saying:

While metallurgical coal accounted for 64% of total exports, EIA said the main driver of the growth has been “a surge in steam coal” exports, which in Q1 rose 160% year-on-year. Met coal exports in the quarter were 21% above year-ago levels.
