Traders said UK thermal imports had strengthened on the back of positive dark spreads, the profit margins from coal-fired generation. Russia continued to account for the majority of thermal coal imports, shipping just over 3 million mt in the April-June period, while Colombia was the second largest exporter to the UK, delivering 1.88 million mt.
