TransAlta adding gas unit at coal plant

The Calgary Herald.com reports that TransAlta Corp.(TSX:TA,NYSE:TAC)  intends to build a Natural Gas extension to its’ large Sundance Coal Plant.

The story is quoted as saying:

Dubbed Sundance 7, the proposed combined cycle plant will step in to replace power from coal-fired generation plants facing retirement under new federal legislation announced this summer, said chief operating officer Dawn Farrell.
