Quarterly UK Coal Output Declines On-Year

Platts reported that first quarter coal production from the UK was down 12.3% year-on-year.

As quoted in the market news:

UK coal production fell 9.7% on-year to a total of 1.3 million mt in April, including 603,000 mt of deep-mined production, up 3.6% on-year, and 700,000 mt of surface mining, down 18.9% form April 2011.
