Permit for Coal Mine on Tribal Land Up for Renewal

CNBC News reported that Peabody Energy (NYSE:BTU) is seeking renewal of a coal mining permit in Arizona.

The market news is quoted as saying:

The federal Office of Surface Mining has completed an environmental assessment for Peabody Energy Corp.’s Kayenta Mine and found no significant impacts. Coal from the mine comes from the Navajo and Hopi reservations and supplies the Navajo Generating Station near Page. The permit is up for renewal every five years.
