Patriot Coal’s Bankruptcy Case Moves to Missouri

Reuters reported that Patriot Coal’s bankruptcy case has been moved from New York to Missouri, after United Mine Workers of America won a motion to have the case moved closer to the company’s base of operations.

As quoted in the market report:

Nobody has ever mined one ounce of coal in Manhattan,” the union said in a statement on Tuesday. “This decision brings the case to the heart of the Illinois coal basin, home to many of our active and retired members and their families
