    The Sydney Morning Herald reports that there is friction brewing between farmers and miners in NSW. The farmers have called for a moratorium on the newly announced mining and coal seam gas projects, and the miners are concerned about the possible economic threat from such a moratorium

    But the NSW Minerals Council, representing the state’s $23 billion mining industry, said such a move would be irresponsible, ill-informed and do untold damage to the state’s economy and towns.
