Japan Will Use More Coal During Maintenance, Deutsche Bank Says

Bloomberg reported that Japan is expected to consume more coal as it maintains its nuclear reactors over the next eight months.

The market news is quoted as saying:

Coal consumption may rise by 1.6 million tons a month if none of the 16 plants is restarted over the period, Deutsche Bank said. That would be up 35 percent from the 4.46 million tons used in July, according to the report.
