James River Coal Company to Acquire IRP and L & K

James River Coal Company (NASDAQ:JRCC) announced its acquisition of International Resource Partners LP and Logan & Kanawha LLC and their affiliate companies.

The press release is quoted as saying:

Under the terms of the agreement JRCC will pay $475 million in cash.  JRCC will acquire IRP/L&K free of debt.
