Elusive China Demand Erodes Support for Newcastle Thermal Coal Prices

Platts reported that Newcastle thermal coal prices fell on lower demand from China.

As quoted in the market news:

In the Newcastle paper market, jitters about the lack of physical coal buying by China sent prices for 6,000 kcal/kg NAR derivative contracts $2/mt lower to $113/mt for December 2011 and Q1 2012 at the close of trading on Thursday.
