Clean Coal Projects Need Government Support

Reuters reported that, faced with stiff competition from natural gas producers, many of the clean coal projects in the US may be jeopardized unless the governement helps in to help offset costs and to promote the energy option.

As quoted in the market report:

To remain part of the long-term energy mix, coal plants need to invest in systems that capture carbon dioxide emissions from coal-fired power plants and bury the emissions underground to keep them out of the atmosphere — technology known as carbon capture and storage (CCS).
