China’s Energy Demands Fuel Bonanza for BHP and Rio

The Australian reported that BHP’s and Rio Tinto’s contracts with China and Japan for iron ore and coking coal are about to be renegotiated.

The market news is quoted as saying:

Iron ore and coal contracts are negotiated on the basis of spot market prices between December and February. The contracts will be concluded in coming weeks.
