BHP, Mitsubishi to Cut 230 Jobs at Saraji Coal Mine

Reuters reported that BHP Billiton Ltd. (ASX:BHP,NYSE:BHP,LSE:BLT) and Mitsubishi Corp. (TSE:8058) plan to cut about 230 jobs at their Queensland-based Saraji mine.

As quoted in the market news:

The mine produces up to 8 million tonnes each year of coking coal, used to make steel. The nearby Norwich Park and Gregory mines have already been closed by BHP and Mitsubishi in response to lower demand.
