Australian State Targets A$6.2 Billion Coal Port Expansion

Bloomberg reported that bids are invited for the expansion of Australia’s Abbot Point coal port.

The market news is quoted as saying:

The proposed expansion is aimed at meeting rising Asian demand for the commodity, Bligh said. Adani Enterprises Ltd. (ADE), India’s biggest coal importer, agreed last month to pay A$1.8 billion for a 99-year lease on the terminal.
