American Electric Pulls Back on Coal-Fired Power Shutdown

Bloomberg reported that American Electric Power (NYSE:AEP) won’t cut as much coal-fired production as it originally stated.

As quoted in the market news:

The difference stems from the company’s decision in December to seek a 31 percent rate increase to pay for environmental equipment needed to keep its Big Sandy Unit 2 in Kentucky operating.
