Alpha Reports Second-Quarter Loss on Massey Acquisition Costs

Bloomberg reported that costs for the takeover of Massey Energy Co. pushed profits down for Alpha Natural Resources (NYSE:ANR).

The market news is quoted as saying:

Alpha fell 82 cents, or 2 percent, to $40.08 yesterday in New York Stock Exchange composite trading. The shares have fallen 33 percent this year.
