Eurasian Natural Resources Sees Decrease in HC Ferrochrome Production

Platts reported that Eurasian Natural Resources Corp. (LSE:ENRC) indicated that a decrease in output of high-carbon ferrochrome brought its production of ferroalloys down 1.3 percent from a year ago to 377,000 mt.

Platts reported that Eurasian Natural Resources Corp. (LSE:ENRC) indicated that a decrease in output of high-carbon ferrochrome brought its production of ferroalloys down 1.3 percent from a year ago to 377,000 mt.

As quoted in the market news:

Gross production of HC ferrochrome in Q2 was 293,000 mt, down 3% compared with the same period of 2011 but up 1% compared with the previous quarter. The company said the decline was due to repair works at its Aksu Furnaces 61 and 62.

Saleable production of HC ferrochrome was 264,000 mt in Q2, down 3.2% compared with the same period of 2011 but up 1.7% on the quarter.

Gross production of medium carbon ferrochrome in Q2 was 12,000 mt, unchanged from the same period of 2011 but down 7.7% on the quarter. Low carbon ferrochrome production in Q2 was also steady year on year at 12,000 mt but down 14.3% from the previous quarter.
