Ferrochrome (HC basis Cr 60 percent) delivered in Europe fell slightly in September from its August average and was trading between $1.02 and $1.05 a pound on September 11, according to data from Metal-Pages. In the United States, it was trading at $1.05 a pound, also down from its average August price. Prices in Europe and the US have dropped from May levels, when the metal plateaued at around $1.25 a pound in Europe and $1.20 a pound in the US.
Chinese ferrochrome (HC basis Cr 50 percent) prices were between $1,120 and $1,144 a tonne on September 11, below their August average of $1,163 to 1,182 yuan a tonne.
