Highbank Resources Attends BC Stone, Sand & Gravel Association Meeting
Highbank Resources Ltd. (TSXV:HBK) CEO Victor Bryant, CFO Gary Musil, and Director James Place, attended the B.C. Stone, Sand & Gravel Association general meeting on Jan. 16, 2014, and were introduced as new members of the association.
As quoted in the press release:
Minister of Energy and Mines Bill Bennett was in attendance and briefly addressed the meeting. Mr. Bennett commented on the importance of aggregates to both the energy and mines departments, and all the infrastructure and construction that happen around the development of these projects, as well as most of the construction throughout the province. During the brief question period following, Mr. Bryant remarked on the lengthy time it was taking for the company’s notice-of-work application through the Smithers, B.C., mines office and the unnecessary review proposed for a mine development review committee. Mr. Bennett also commented that they are continuing to work toward reducing the approval and turnaround time in notice-of-work permit applications. Upon Mr. Bennett’s departure the company delivered his assistant a detailed summary of the notice-of-work response from the ministry received on Dec. 2, 2013, the company’s reply and a copy of all documentation returned to the ministry on Dec. 30, 2013, and further e-mails and communication back and forth with the ministry since, and asked him to review the information.
