ADPA Demands KP Retraction on Marange Rough

Diamonds.net reports that the African Diamond Producers Association had demanded that the Kimberly Process retract their statement regarding the banning of Zimbabwe diamonds.

The story is quoted as saying:

The African Diamond Producers Association (ADPA) demanded that Kimberley Process chairman Boaz Hirsch withdraw his statement “banning the sale of Zimbabwe’s diamonds,” according to Zimbabwe’s Herald newspaper.   The association called Hirsch’s statement illegal and by refusing to back down, his actions would “have severe ramifications regarding the continued participation of members” in the Kimberley Process.
