Virginia Considers Uranium Mining Ban Until 2012

Platts reported Virginia’s governor has requested the legislature to keep a uranium mining ban in place for 2012.

As quoted in the market news:

Such a request appears to echo thinking in the legislature, as the governor said he had received a letter Wednesday from a bipartisan group of legislators on the Uranium Subcommittee of the Coal and Energy Commission asking him to “delay any action on uranium mining” until “a more thorough and on-site review” is completed.
