Uranium Nuclear Energy Use Falls in France

Platts reported French industrial power demands have fallen so far in 2012.

As quoted in the market news:

On the supply side, total French power production for the month stood at 57.17 TWh, 1.8% lower than in January 2011.

Nuclear generation fell 2.3% on the year to 42.82 TWh while fossil fuel generation was 18.1% lower at 5.38 TWh as mild weather reduced the need for more costly gas, coal and oil peak plant.
