Tanzania Seeking $206 Million Tax Charge from ARMZ

Mining Weekly reported that Tanzania is trying to collect $206 million in taxes from Russian miner JSC Atomredmetzoloto (ARMZ), who has been awarded the licence to build the country’s first uranium mine.

As quoted in the Mining Weekly report:

Tanzania’s tax claim related to the Mkuju River project in southern Tanzania, which was operated by Toronto-listed Uranium One, but owned by ARMZ, the Canadian uranium producer’s majority shareholder.
