YLE reports Talvivaara, a Finnish Mining firm has signed an agreement to produce uranium as a by-product of nickel-mining in collaboration with Cameco Corporation, a Canadian firm.

Cameco will invest 45 million euros to establish a uranium extraction circuit at Talvivaara’s mine in Sotkamo, north-east Finland. In return, they will receive any uranium extracted. After the investment is repaid, Cameco will buy all uranium produced at the mine until 2027.
