Crosshair Energy Corporation (TSX:CXX,NYSE:CXZ) started the first phase of its 2012 drill program on July 14th at its Juniper Ridge project in Wyoming. The company has also received approval from the Bureau of Land Management and the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality for the addition of 149 exploration, delineation and infill boreholes to Crosshair’s 2011 Notice of Intent to Drill at Juniper Ridge.

As quoted in the press release:

The first phase of this 2012 drilling program, totaling approximately 24,300 feet (7,407 metres), is designed to delineate open mineralization trends, bolster uranium resource certainty and investigate potential additional resources in areas not covered by historic data or Crosshair’s 2011 drilling. Upon completion of this first phase, Crosshair will reclaim each site and submit documents for the addition of the remaining boreholes planned for the 2012 season. The second phase of drilling is scheduled for August and September.

Mark Ludwig, Crosshair President and CEO stated:

Building on the strong drilling results of 2011, we expect the 2012 program to significantly enhance our resource base and build a database to support our application for a Source Materials License application.
