Areva Halts Russian Uranium Shipments as Rosatom Contract Ends

Bloomberg.com  reports Russian uranium shipments will be halted by Areva when its contract ends.
“The final transport of Areva’s depleted uranium to Russia, within the scope of this contract, will occur as planned in the weeks to come,” Areva said on its website. The ending of the contract was decided in 2006, the company said.

Rosatom spokesman Sergei Novikov confirmed by telephone the halt to shipments and the end of the contract.
