Primary Petroleum Increases Land Holdings to Over 200,000 Net Acres

Primary Petroleum Corporation (CVE:PIE) reports that it has secured over 200,000 net acres to our Area of Interest in the Alberta Basin Bakken Fairway of western Montana.

Primary Petroleum Corporation (TSXV:PIE) reports that it has secured over 200,000 net acres to our Area of Interest in the Alberta Basin Bakken Fairway of western Montana.

The press release is quoted as saying:

Primary has commenced a seismic modeling evaluation on its’ existing 26 sq. mi. proprietary 3D seismic data, shot in 2008, to aid in the selection of optimum drilling locations. As well, the Company is contemplating the acquisition of additional 3D seismic over its’ lands as it continues to prepare for the commencement of a drilling program in 2011.

Primary Petroleum’s President & CEO, Mike Marrandino says:

“Our land acquisition strategy, based on identifying geological trends with prospective hydrocarbon potential, is to continue to acquire key acreage to add to our existing land holdings.”  “We are experiencing increased activity in our area of interest from both existing industry participants in the area and from new players, as the potential of the Alberta Bakken Basin continues to garner more and more interest and drilling activity on both sides of the border.”
