Positive Economic Data Boosts Oil

MarketWatch reported that oil prices were up following news of a strengthening economy.

As quoted in the market news:

For the regular session, the January contract for light, sweet crude oil climbed $3.34, or 3.6%, to settle at $97.22 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
