Bloomberg reported that oil surged 62 cents to $85.64 a barrel.

As quoted in the market news:

Oil for July delivery increased as much as 62 cents to $85.64 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange and was at $85.46 at 9 a.m. Sydney time.
