Oil Companies Brace for Possible U.S. Gulf Storm

Reuters reported that an incoming storm in the Gulf of Mexico has forced oil companies to temporarily shut down some platforms.

The market news is quoted as saying:

The slow-moving system that has essentially parked about 210 miles (345 km) south of the mouth of the Mississippi River could bring up to 20 inches of rain over southern Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama through Sunday, the National Hurricane Center said.
