ConocoPhillips Acquires Niobrara Shale Acreage In Colorado

NASDAQ reports that ConocoPhillips (NYSE:COP) has agreed to buy 46,000 acres in the Niobrara Shale from Lario Oil & Gas in Colorado.

The market news is quoted as saying:

The deal comes two weeks after the oil giant unveiled plans to split its production-and-exploration and refining arms into two standalone companies next year.
