Philadelphia Carbide Introduces Tungsten Carbide Replacement Parts for Homogenizers
Philadelphia Carbide announced that it has introduced cost-effective tungsten carbide replacement parts for homogenizers.
Philadelphia Carbide announced that it has introduced cost-effective tungsten carbide replacement parts for homogenizers.
The press release is quoted as saying:
In response to increasingly challenging homogenization processing conditions, Philadelphia Carbide has developed special grades of carbides, specially tailored for different service environments, to ensure optimum performance and long life for plungers, valves and other homogenizer replacement parts. The components, said DeCarlo, have been subjected to working pressures in a range of 10,000 psi (750bar) up to 70,000 psi (5000 bar). Philadelphia Carbide, he added, is capable of finishing parts to a surface finish of less than 1 Ra– a finish that is crucial for maximizing service life
Rocky DeCarlo, President of Philadelphia Carbide, said:
“These harsh service conditions necessarily take a toll in wear, corrosion and abrasion on typical homogenization processing equipment. Tungsten carbide, which is known for its wear resistance and hardness. has emerged as a cost-effective alternative for many homogenizer replacement parts.”
