Mining Weekly reported that Critical Elements’ flagship project will begin its first production at least a year from its original production date as it prioritizes securing a deal with an offtake partner. The Rose project PEA estimated a total of 3.5 million pounds of tantalum pentoxide over the mine’s lifespan of 17 years.

Lavallée explained the main focus this year was to advance discussions with potential offtake partners, and once a deal had been reached, it would place the company in a much better position to negotiate the financing needed to construct the mine and lithium carbonate plant.
