Dearth of U.S. Mining Advocacy Programs Could Hurt Future REE Supply Chain

Mineweb reported that the US government’s lack of advocacy for hardrock mining programs could stall the rebuilding of the mining sector in the country.

As quoted in the market news:

U.S. Bureau of Land Management Geologist and Mining Program Leader, Rick Deery, observed that the intellectual capacity of federal agencies that regulate mining and exploration is rapidly declining as the staff geologists, mineral examiners and other mining regulatory professionals are retiring. This situation is compounded by government budget cuts and low federal salaries, which send newly minted geologists and engineers fleeing to the private sector for much heftier pay.
