Saft Lithium-Ion Battery Technology Selected for Solar Energy Storage Project in California
Saft, the world’s top designer and manufacturer of high-tech batteries will provide renewable energy storage for 2500 R Street, California’s first micro-grid, distributed energy community housing project.
Saft, the world’s top designer and manufacturer of high-tech batteries will provide renewable energy storage for 2500 R Street, California’s first micro-grid, distributed energy community housing project.
The press release is quoted as saying:
“We selected Saft’s Li-ion battery technology because of its proven performance and ability to meet the custom specifications of our energy management system,” said Ken Munson, President of Sunverge Energy. “We needed a smart system with an intelligent design to provide sufficient energy storage at an affordable cost – Saft’s Synerion battery met all our criteria.”
“Saft is excited to be part of this residential energy storage program and fully supports the primary goals to conserve energy, protect the environment and provide reliable and affordable utility services,” said Blake Frye, Vice-President of sales, Energy Storage for Saft America. “We see strong growth potential for the residential solar storage market and 2500 R Street marks Saft’s second major RES project in California.”
