The comments received from the visits and meetings were addressed and incorporated into the final EIS document.
The EIS was completed by consultants MTL Ltd, Tanzania and Digby Wells Environmental based in South Africa and adhered to IFC standards and comprehensively covered all environmental and social aspects of the Project.
The process for gaining approval for the Special Mining License continues to track to schedule.
Government and Community involvement
Community engagement has been a high priority for Magnis. Meetings have been held regularly with all stakeholders to explain the Company’s activities at each stage of the project. Good lines of communication with all stakeholders and our transparency with the community has resulted in a mutually respectful relationship.
A comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program is being developed with the local stakeholders that will concentrate on long term sustainable benefits to the whole community such as water supplies, health and education. Several contributions have been made by Magnis to various local village projects including the improvement of a primary school and the construction of a medical clinic.
Presentations have been held with the Commissioner for Minerals and other officials in the Tanzania Ministry of Energy and Minerals. In discussions to date, all levels of the Government have been very supportive of getting the Project into operation.
2015 Drilling Programme
With the conclusion of the wet season, the 2015 drilling program began in the middle of May.

- Resource drilling to refine the Mine Plan in preparation for future operations;
