IMX Resources Ltd. (TSX:IXR,ASX:IXR) announced that the National Environment Management Council of Tanzania has approved the scoping report and terms of reference for the environmental impact assessment (EIA) study on the company’s Chilalo graphite project in Southeast Tanzania.
As quoted in the press release:
This follows the Council’s review of the scoping report and terms of reference for the EIA and the Council’s registration of the Chilalo graphite mine development on 20 April 2015.
Work on the EIA has already commenced and, with this approval in hand, will now be accelerated in line with the Company’s objective of having the EIA submitted to the Council at the end of May 2015.
The Company has engaged a specialist consultant to conduct the EIA and manage the process for obtaining the required permits for the Chilalo Project.
Phil Hoskins, CEO of IMX, commented:
We recognise that securing the permits necessary for establishment of operations at Chilalo is critical to our commitment to rapidly advance the project towards development. Obtaining this latest approval from the Council, again in such a short time-frame, marks another important step forward in the overall permitting process.
