Metals of Africa Confirms Broken Hill-type System at Rio Mazoe
Metals of Africa Ltd. (ASX:MTA) provided assay results from the recent drill program at its Mozambique-based Rio Mazoe lead-zinc-silver project, commenting that the results confirm the existence of a Broken Hill-type system.
Metals of Africa Ltd. (ASX:MTA) provided assay results from the recent drill program at its Mozambique-based Rio Mazoe lead-zinc-silver project, commenting that the results confirm the existence of a Broken Hill-type system.
The company’s press release also states that four of the five holes drilled intersected a “previously unseen alteration type thought to be proximal to mineralisation.”
Other highlights from the press release include:
- Drilling targeted the Rulio prospect and highlight results include: 12.27% Pb, 0.35% Cu, 0.25% Zn, and 18.08g/t Ag.
- Further exploration to test for a world class exploration target to be conducted in 2014.
- Metal sulfides were noted as primary minerals in the alteration rocks and as secondary concentrations in veins and breccia zones indicating a metal rich environment during formation.
- Drilling and mapping indicates a buried synform structure as a highly favourable host for Broken Hill Type mineralisation.
- This structure is a priority drill target for 2014.
- Further Broken Hill Type alteration has been identified at the nearby Meque prospect and may significantly increase the magnitude of the Rio Mazoe Project if the two systems can be linked.
