Net earnings for first-quarter 2010 were $59.7 million ($0.20 per share), compared to a net loss of $42.9 million ($0.15 per share) for first-quarter 2009. Consolidated sales volumes for first-quarter 2010 (Sherritt’s share) totaled 9.4 million pounds of nickel, 0.9 million pounds of cobalt, 9.8 million tonnes of thermal coal, 1.1 million barrels of oil and 172 GWh of electricity.
