Reuters reported that something of a mass exodus is taking place at Finland’s Talvivaara Mining Company plc (LSE:TALV). Last year, board member Michael Rawlinson and Chief Mining Officer Kari Vyhtinen left the company, and now word has surfaced that both COO Darin Cooper and board member Kirsi Sormunen are on their way out.
As quoted in the market news:
Hurt by falling nickel prices and repeated production disruptions, Talvivaara last year started to renegotiate its debt in a court-led reorganisation process. It said last month that its liquidity situation remained critical and it was in active discussions on short and long-term funding.
Cooper, who joined the company only six months ago, is leaving to pursue a career outside the company, Talvivaara said.
