Australian Mining reported that Gina Rinehart’s Roy Hill mine has been issued prohibition notices by Western Australia’s Department of Mines and Petroleum.
Australian Mining reported that Gina Rinehart’s Roy Hill mine has been issued prohibition notices by Western Australia’s Department of Mines and Petroleum.
As quoted in the market news:
Director of mines safety at the DMP, Andrew Chaplyn, said Roy Hill was issued with two prohibition notices in the past year.
Chaplyn said the notices were issued after a number of incident reports in relation to working with cranes and elevated platforms.
A spokeswoman at Roy Hill stated:
The prohibition notice applies to lifting activities in an isolated work area and does not impinge upon construction-related activities elsewhere on the project.
Based on the work already undertaken, we anticipate returning to normal lifting operations within days.
