ASX Exchange Round-Up: ASX Up 96 Points
The Australian Securities Exchange rose 96 points today, reaching 4,791.80. It opened the session at 4,695.80 and hit a high of 4,792.60.

Lynas Corporation (ASX:LYC) dropped $0.03, to $0.456, a fall of more than 6 percent. Beach Energy (ASX:BPT), an oil and gas company, also declined on the ASX today. The company fell $0.045 to hit $1.124. Atlas Iron (ASX:AGO) fell $0.03, to $0.755, whileĀ Eastern Iron (ASX:EFE) fell around 50 percent, to $0.06.
Takoradi (ASX:TKG), a gold, copper and base metals exploration company, was among the markerās top gainers today. The company rose 100 percent to reach $0.012.
On June 13, the Syndey Morning Herald reportedĀ thatĀ Australian shares were about 10 percent belowĀ their peak as a result of weaker currency and poor economic data forcing investors to leave the market. The ASX is the worst-performing stock market in the world at the moment.
