Phosagro seen using Potash bid for domestic gain

Reuters reports that Russia’s Phosagro is betting its stated desire to bid for Canada’s Potash Corp. (NYSE:POT)

The market news is quoted as saying:

Phosagro, whose chairman Vladimir Litvinenko is an ally of Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, says it is in “intensive consultations” with the government and banks about bidding for a stake in Potash, the world’s biggest producer of key fertiliser component potash.
