Global Saskatoon reported that Saskatchewan’s NDP party is still calling for an increase to royalty payments from potash profits.
As quoted in the market news:
Agrium says net profits increased fivefold on record sales to US$293-million for the quarter and paid US$7-million in potash profit and capital tax. The NDP says that’s not enough, saying Agrium only paid royalties equal to just four per cent of $167-million in potash sales from its Vanscoy mine during the quarter.
