Leader Post reported that K+S Potash Canada is taking delivery of a crystallizer unit from JNE Welding. The unit is expected to arrive at the company’s Legacy solution potash mine, located near Bethune, Saskatchewan, on January 9.

As quoted in the market news:

The crystallizer, which is 33 feet in diameter and 56.5 feet long, and weighs close to 300,000 pounds, is used in retrieving potash from the solution process, which brings potash to the surface.

Lockie McKinnon, terminal director for Premay Equipment, which is in charge of moving the crystallizer, stated:

The biggest challenge is just getting everyone on board and making sure it is done safely.
