Intrepid Says US Q1 Potash Demand ‘Reminiscent’ of 2008

Mining Weekly reported on the surge in potash demand to near-record levels.

The editorial is quoted as saying:

Potash prices soared in 2008 to nearly $900/t as farmers and speculators bet that prices would continue to rise. After having dropped to around $350/t in the wake of the global recession, spot prices for the crop nutrient recovered to C$409/t in March this year.
