Compass Minerals Q1 profit lags Wall Street view

Compass Minerals International Inc (CMP.N) posted a lower-than-expected quarterly profit, hurt by milder winter weather.

The press release is quoted as saying:

The company, which makes salt, sulfate of potash and magnesium chloride, however, said the price and volume volatility in the potash industry had “substantially” subsided.
